Goals & Features of the CounterACT Library on Sulfur Mustard

This web database strives to provide a comprehensive literature resource for scientists investigating vesicating agents, including sulfur mustard. Developed for the CounterACT program (Countermeasures Against Chemical Threats), it is hoped that this library will be used by the entire scientific community as a resource for references on vesicating agents that are not available through traditional search mechanisms. The CounterACT program is administered by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke under the direction of the Department of Homeland Security. Funding is provided by Project Bioshield, a government program designed to encourage research and development of medical countermeasures against chemical, biological, and radiological threats.

This database provides:

  • a comprehensive literature dataset, currently featuring nearly 4,000 records
  • older citations not available on PubMed
  • all abstracts published through the CounterACT program of Project Bioshield
  • abstracts published on vesicants from the Annual Bioscience Review
  • import of records from common bibliographic formats and online databases
  • export of references in RefManager or EndNote format

This literature database was created by Joshua Gray, Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the United States Coast Guard Academy, and co-director of the Education component of the UMDNJ-Rutgers University CounterACT Research Center of Excellence. It is supported by the NIH CounterACT program NIAMS U54AR055073. Benefits of Registering
